Red Cross Training in Delaware
In Delaware, Red Cross training classes are taught by experts, and include only proven, vetted procedures. All of our programs are based on the latest science, standards and regulations, and are overseen by the Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council – a panel of nationally recognized experts from scientific, medical, and academic disciplines. With the Council's guidance, we're able to ensure that Red Cross training in Delaware, and throughout the country, aligns with the latest evidence-based knowledge in science and medicine, and adheres to relevant industry standards and guidelines.
CPR Training
Part of keeping our schools safe for everyone includes ensuring that those on campus can provide care when it's needed most. To that end, we offer CPR training in Delaware that not only delivers important training to educators, administrators and other school staff, but allows those who undergo our training to become instructors who can help other faculty members and students earn their own CPR certification. For more information on these special CPR classes, visit https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/cpr/cpr-training/cpr-programs-for-schools.
If you've already taken CPR classes in Delaware and earned your certification, you can use refresher materials from the Red Cross to help maintain your skills. And although it might sound like an unnecessary step, according to a research review conducted by the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council, CPR skill retention begins to decline within a few months of training - and less than half of course participants can pass a skills test one year later. So, in order to help you keep your skills sharp, we've developed a number of refresher materials that take just a few short minutes to complete online, but can make all the difference when help is needed.
BLS Training
At the Red Cross, BLS classes in Delaware are available to healthcare workers and public safety professionals. These classes can be taken in two ways: In person or via our blended Simulation Learning. In person BLS training takes place entirely in person, with classmates and an instructor. This type of class provides you with ample time to explore topics, ask questions and learn all of the care techniques addressed in class. For those who choose Simulation Learning, the same information will be taught in an online environment, but interactive discussion won't be possible. Once the "lecture" portion of the class is complete, you'll join an in-person skill session where you'll demonstrate your BLS skills to a certified instructor. Both courses, once complete, result in full certification.
Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) classes in Delaware are designed for healthcare providers and public safety professionals who deliver critical care to the public during times of crisis. Our BLS training allows students to develop a wide range skills and earn a number of important certifications, including scene safety and assessment, CPR and AED use, obstructed airway, and more. In addition, if you choose to take your Delaware BLS certification classes as a crew or team, we can work with you to include your local protocols during the class, for a custom learning experience.
AED Training
After completing your Red Cross AED training in Delaware, our refresher materials can help you maintain your skills so that you can respond appropriately and confidently during times of crisis. Refresher materials take just a few short minutes to use, but by keeping your memory (and your skills) sharp, they can mean all the difference to someone in need.
An AED is the only effective treatment for restoring a regular heart rhythm after a cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, the average response time for first responders once 911 is called is 8 to 12 minutes - and for each minute defibrillation is delayed, the chance of surviving sudden cardiac arrest reduces by approximately 10%. However, with AED classes in Delaware from the American Red Cross, you can learn how to help during times of crisis, and provide critical assistance when it's needed most. Sign up for AED training, and gain the skills needed to help save a life.
Babysitting Training
Child care licensing is regulated at the state level, often requires on-site visits from inspectors, and typically requires candidates to meet a wide range of highly specific criteria. At the American Red Cross, we do not license facilities, nor is our certification intended to meet state child care licensing requirements. Instead, our Delaware babysitting classes are designed to help older children and adults gain insights that allow them to responsibly care for children and infants inside and outside the home. These courses feature the latest in science- and evidence-based knowledge, but do not satisfy certification requirements from state agencies.
If you're interested in becoming a state-licensed child care provider, please contact the licensing agency in your area. However, if you'd like to learn how to provide quality care to the kids in your neighborhood, or your own family members, please explore the Delaware babysitter training opportunities available from the American Red Cross.
Although each of our Delaware babysitting classes delivers a different level of instruction and information, they all focus on providing you with the information you need to become a capable, confident babysitter. Throughout all of our courses you'll learn about subjects like providing care to infants and children, choosing age-appropriate activities, what to do in an emergency, basic first aid, child behavior, and more. Learn more about our babysitter training opportunities and decide whether they're right for you.
Note: None of our babysitting training in Delaware is intended as certification for state-licensed childcare providers and does not meet all state requirements for such certification.
First Aid Training
At the Red Cross, first aid training in Delaware is available in three ways - online, in-person, and via our Simulation Learning experience, which combines online coursework with in-person skills sessions. This way, you can learn your way - and take classes that suit your schedule. If you need an OSHA-compliant certification, only in-person and Simulation Learning courses satisfy OSHA requirements. However, if full-certification isn't required by your job or a volunteer organization, online-only courses may suit your needs. Find more information on the current Delaware first aid classes available.
If you don't need full, OSHA-compliant first aid certification, our online learning courses can help you get the information you need from the comfort of your home. This type of Red Cross training is conducted entirely online and can be taken at your convenience. It covers the same information as our in-person course, including providing care to adults and children suffering from burns, heart attack, external bleeding, and more - but doesn't give you the opportunity to practice your skills in a real-world setting. If hands-on experience is important to you, you may choose to opt for an in-person or blended Simulation Learning course, which combines online learning with an in-person skills session. Take a look at the current list of in-person and online first aid training in Delaware, and choose the right option for the way you learn.
