    With nearly half of U.S. counties experiencing maternity care deserts or low access to maternity care, expanding neonatal resuscitation education inside and outside of the hospital is more critical than ever.

    To address this need, the American Red Cross has collaborated with the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) to develop a new and innovative option for neonatal resuscitation training that addresses the management of the newborn both in an out of the traditional delivery room or neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The new blended learning NALS courses will help expand both the reach and access to scientifically validated training across the healthcare continuum.

    The two NALS blended learning courses (Foundations and Comprehensive) combine evidence-based interventions, psychomotor skills and high-reliability principles with critical thinking and problem-solving strategies to equip healthcare providers with the necessary tools for effective intervention.

    Elevate™ SMART Manikin Training Solution

    The SMART Manikin offers unparalleled convenience and efficiency for both learners and organizations. Learners begin their certification with a flexible, didactic eLearning course taken at a time and day of their choosing.

    Upon successful completion of the eLearning course, learners schedule a skills session with the SMART Manikin. In a private setting, they practice skills with the manikin and a tablet. An instructor is on-call for support if needed. After successfully passing all required skills sessions, learners receive their certification card by email.
