All the CPR manikins the American Red Cross carries can be used to practice and learn CPR. Some of the CPR manikins provide instant CPR feedback, some are extremely lightweight and easy to transport, while some have more advanced features such as instant CPR feedback with embedded analytics via Bluetooth.
Some CPR manikins are also designed with features that are taught in more advanced CPR classes such as the jaw thrust maneuver. So, selecting the right CPR manikin depends on your budget, the classes you are teaching, (basic vs. Professional rescuers) and what CPR feedback features you want (if any).

First Aid/CPR/AED, BLS, CPRO or Lifeguarding, Emergency Medical Response (EMR)? - All our manikins can be used for CPR training at your workplace, aquatic, or healthcare facility. There are different CPR skills taught in some of the higher-level classes. For example, in Lifeguarding/CPRO, Jaw thrust maneuver is taught. So, you will need to have a manikin which is jaw thrust enabled.
There are different manikins for infant CPR vs adult and child CPR. Red Cross guidance allows for an adult manikin to be used for Child CPR training.
American Red Cross offers both options. The Red Cross also offers a 12-pack Prestan Ultralite manikin set with branded carrying case on wheels for easy transport if you wish to make a larger investment in your training program supplies.

Many of the manikins also make an audible clicking sound that will confirm you are doing compressions correctly. Bluetooth feature enables the feedback and recording of the CPR skills. This is typically a requirement for some professional and healthcare occupations (e.g. hospital, professional rescuer).
We provide a range of feedback manikins for CPR training, including all our Brayden/BigRed™ manikins, Laerdal QCPR manikins, and Prestan Professional and Series 2000 manikins. Additionally, some of our Prestan Ultralite manikins include feedback.
Non-feedback CPR manikins are usually less expensive and do not provide real-time CPR feedback to the students. Instead, students rely on feedback from the CPR instructor. Which can be a challenge particularly for large classes. However, the Laerdal manikins are ideal for remote learning and training.

The American Red Cross provides top-tier CPR training, including the use of jaw thrust CPR manikins for instructors and trainees. Jaw thrust manikins enable practice of the jaw thrust maneuver, crucial for suspected spinal injuries. The jaw thrust maneuver is a skill learned by lifeguards in CPR-for the Professional Rescuer (CPRO) training to care for victims with suspected head, neck, or spinal injury to minimize neck movement, as well as an optional skill for Basic Life Support (BLS) training. The lights on the CPR manikins give students real-time (immediate) feedback on their CPR compression technique. This LED light feedback shows students that they need to adjust their CPR compressions (compression rate, compression depth and recoil) so that they learn to do the CPR skills correctly.

The Red Cross Store has a 30-day return policy for Training Supplies, Books & DVDs, Emergency Preparedness, First Aid items, Apparel and Accessory items purchased after April 5, 2021. All unwanted items must be in new, unused condition and at times still in their original packaging.
