Performing CPR

Performing CPR

When it comes to CPR, it's important to know how to treat both kids and adults. That's why, unless you sign up for a class that focuses on one population, our CPR trainings cover the procedures/steps for caring for adults, as well as children. Although we will prepare you to deliver care when it's needed most, the truth is, if you don't use your skills regularly, you're likely to lose them. So, to help prevent or mitigate loss of skills we offer online refresher materials that can help you retain the knowledge you've gained. In addition, we also provide you with access to a printable list of the basic steps for performing CPR. This way, you can keep the information you need right at your fingertips.

    CPR/AED Class
The instructor was well informed on the topics and kept the class moving along at the pace that was perfect for those involved.

The class was efficiently run. The videos were great reminders and we were able to practice our techniques. The only thing I might suggest is that the entire process is practices - that is finding someone, checking situation and victim, asking others to call for help, doing CPR and then using the AED. We did everything but it felt like it was in pieces. In the end, I fell confident in what I learned. The other issue was FINDING the room for the training. I think more explanation should be ... read more given in the email confirmation and/or at least put up signs where the class room is located.

    Exceptional experience
I took the class as a requirement for my CPT. The instructor was amazing. She knew how to teach all the aspects and made it easy to understand. Very friendly and professional. If I have to take any more classes, I hope that I have the same instructor. The content itself, was easy to understand and learn. The videos were very informative. Once I completed the class, my certification was sent to my email so I could print it out for what I needed.

    Insightful and practical training
I learned a lot from this training. I hope that I am not required to use the training but I feel confident that if the need arises I am much better prepared than I was to help. I discovered that I didn't know the basics for example when to and when not to use CPR. I found the Check Call Care approach logical and I am sure it has saved lives. And the SAMPLE checklist is very helpful. There is a lot to remember from this short course. Our instructor was wonderful - patient and professional.

    Awesome experience!
I was taught CPR for adults and kids and I had a great time! My instructor was super friendly and kept things simple. She was also willing to answer any questions my classmates and I had. It is thanks to her and all the other staff of the American Red Cross that I'm on my way to answer my calling from God as a nurse midwife.

    Excellent Class
A perfectly taught class on every day practices that may be needed when you least expect it. The instructor was very informative and answered all questions thoroughly. He was engaging and made sure everyone was using the proper techniques during the hands on segments. Also, he made sure all steps were verbalized and understood during the proper procedure. If you have never done one of these classes I would suggest doing it in person the first time if possible. I would also suggest doing the ... read more adult and pediatric segments as well. Signing up was easy to do and I received my certification as soon as the class ended. I'm very happy with my experience.

    Couldn't be better!
Having the option to take the classes in a hybrid model was really a game changer. It was so nice being able to take the classes on my own time and then just having an hour to complete the in-person section. I have a ton of anxiety and the class wasn't stressful. You participate as a group so the eyes aren't all on you. I really appreciated this as I was nervous about being confused. The instructor was really understanding, gave great feedback and ensured we were all prepared incase of an emergency.

    Just what I needed
I'm required to stay up-to-date on certification in AED/CPR/FA for my job, and since my job wasn't allowed to do our normal in-person trainings this year due to COVID, we were all on our own. The online class followed by the 1-year provisional in-person class ended up being perfect for me. Everything I needed to review was covered, and in a way I could easily understand. The instructor for the in-person class was a little cranky at first, but it was early in the morning, so no judgement. He ... read more ended up covering everything we needed to know very professionally once we actually got started.

    Informative Training!
I needed to recertify for my FA/CPR/AED skills and found the blended course to be both informative and convenient. With COVID, it was nice knowing I did not have to be in an enclosed classroom setting while going back over the basics and knowing that the in-person portion had limited people (my class had 6, including myself and the instructor). Mr. Kidder was a phenomenal instructor, I remember having him for the initial training course two years prior. Would definitely recommend to anyone ... read more interested in certification.

    Very informational!
The instructor for my class (sorry I can’t remember name) was very kind to offer additional information he found to be useful to us, almost predicting the questions we’d ask. However the mood was never set that there was ever a dumb question to be asked; very friendly, informative, great knowledge and honest. Also appreciated the assurance and extra steps taken to ensure our safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Great Class!
I honestly really enjoyed this class and the instructor. We were shown what to do and got multiple times to practice to make sure we were doing it correctly. I thought I would be intimated because this was something I was kind of nervous about doing, but it was fun! I would definitely take this class here in the future again. One thing though: the class may go on longer than expected. I would suggest not making a tight schedule, allow a half-hour more than expected. Otherwise great!

    Very Helpful Course
I needed to take an Infant and Child CPR course for a new job. The course offered by the American Red Cross is straightforward with a lot of opportunity to practice and get feedback. The instructor was knowledgable, friendly and helpful.
